Young British brand Seed and Bean has announced a new listing with national retailer Sainsbury’s that will increase its UK distribution.

Seed and Bean said its British handmade chocolate flavoured bars will be available instore from August. The brand, which launched in 2005, has been at the forefront of the green movement and seven years ago, was the very first bar to move to fully compostable foil.

Fairtrade

Seed and Bean’s 18-strong range of organic, Fairtrade and vegan chocolate is already available through Ocado, Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic, John Lewis Food Hall, and the new Sainsburys listing will see the brand’s Coconut & Raspberry, Mandarin & Ginger and Lavender Dark Chocolate going into 209 Sainsbury’s store at £2.95 each.

Oliver Shorts, co-owner of Seed and Bean said: “I could not be happier to see three of our bars going into Sainsbury’s and becoming available to customers nationwide. It’s the first time our brand will be available in bricks and mortar stores across the UK, and despite the challenging times over Brexit and Covid-19, it goes to shows what years of hard work can achieve.

We were the first brand to introduce compostable packaging and have stayed true to our values and ethos by creating an adventurous range of chocolate, and it feels wonderful fun into the premium chocolate sector.”
