Makers of Red Vines and Sour Punch to unveil products embracing diversity and inclusion of their fans.

American Licorice Company (ALC) has launched five new product varieties to their Red Vines and Sour Punch brands, inspired by support and feedback from fans of both brands.

Established in 1914 and one of the original licorice manufacturers in the US, the new range for 2020 honors the “inspiration our loyal customers have given us and serve as our tribute to them,” said Kristi Shafer, vice president of marketing, ALC.

American Licorice Company and its Red Vines and Sour Punch brands uphold a mission to celebrate the value of every individual. In doing so, we highly regard the encouraging support of our fans who have shared their stories and love for our brands.”

Embrace Your Punch

ALC said it is driven by a mission to celebrate uniqueness and individuality through its Embrace Your Punch initiative and is incorporating its uplifting message into its newest stand-out product.

Our new Sour Punch Sweet Bites, our only sweet, non-sour candy, celebrates individuality by being unique amongst our famously sour product line,” said Shafer.

Sweet Bites present an assortment of four new flavors based on fan requests, like Cotton Candy, and are packaged in a collection of six unique Embrace Your Punch themed designs that encourage fans to embrace and appreciate each other’s differences.

Along with Sweet Bites, Sour Punch is debuting the much-anticipated Sour Punch Fan Favorites Bites, featuring fans’ most beloved flavors together in one bag and a new eco-friendly, edible drinking straw. Sour Punch is also adding Grape Straws, social media fans’ most requested product, as a permanent offering in the portfolio.

Finally, responding to social comments from fans, the iconic Red Vines brand is reintroducing the favorite SuperStrings, a pull-apart red licorice twist. This comeback treat encourages fans to have fun playing with their food.

Each of these fan-inspired products will be available on retail shelves nationwide and online beginning late Fall 2020.
