Announced during the awards ceremony, NERDS Gummy Clusters were selected as the winner for ‘Best in Show’ for its transformational, dual-texture and flavour profile, while NERDS Candy Corn received the top accolades in ‘Seasonal – Candy & Snacks’ for its distinctive innovation that features a NERDS candy flavoured shell surrounding a Candy Corn with a soft and chewy NERDS fruity centre.
The Most Innovative New Product Awards is one of the highlights of the Sweets & Snacks Expo, which was held this year at the Indiana Convention Center.
Representing 85% of the confectionery and snack category, the awards bring in retail and category thought leaders evaluating more than 300 innovations and recognising 55 products across 11 categories, including the Best in Show and Seasonal awards. Each product is evaluated based innovation, taste, packaging and ability to sell.
