The annual awards took place earlier this month and since 1994 more than 130,000 products have been put through a robust judging process. The NOMO caramel bar was awarded 1 star at Great Taste, which represents a ‘simply delicious’ product delivering fantastic flavour.
Judges agrred that the NOMO vegan and free-from caramel bar had an ‘attractive appearance’ with a filling that was ‘well-balanced and caramelly’ whilst not having an ‘overbearing sweetness’. They noted that this was a ‘balanced and very pleasant product in this specialist market.’
The NOMO Caramel Bar was developed to appeal to vegan consumers, or those with a food allergy - or those that simply love caramel.
Made with a non-dairy alternative to milk chocolate with a caramel-flavoured centre, it is completely vegan and free from dairy, gluten, egg and nuts. The bar is made from sustainably sourced, quality ingredients, ensuring that all chocolate lovers can enjoy their NOMO moment.
Since launching in 2019, NOMO has become a staple of the confectionery industry and is officially the number one vegan and free from chocolate brand in the UK. It is currently worth £9m in RSV, selling over 6.6 million in unit sales and 351 tonnes of chocolate.
