Lindt to release new vegan bars in UK
Available in stores in time for Veganuary 2022, the new chocolate bars will be made from a blend of premium cocoa, gluten-free oat drink and almond paste.
The two variations include Lindt Classic Recipe Vegan Smooth and Lindt Classic Recipe Vegan Hazelnut, with additional crunchy hazelnut pieces.
The oat milk-based chocolate bars will initially only be available in the United Kingdom, rolling out in Sainsbury’s locations across the country.
Lindt recently launched a line of vegan milk chocolate products under its HELLO collection. The vegan chocolate selection featured three flavours including Salted Caramel, Hazelnut, and Cookie, which were available across Germany and UK.
The move by global companies such as Lindt, Nestlé and Hershey, re-enforces the message that vegan chocolate is here to stay by popularizing the trend of plant-based and dairy-free chocolate.
