Using only natural colours and flavours, Australia’s rising star in the better-for-you confectionary market is revamping the gummy — without the guilt trip.

Since launching in 2021, start-up FUNDAY Natural Sweets has proved there’s a big appetite for better-for-you confectionery in Australia, and globally.

FUNDAY has burst onto the scene with a range of lollies that are very colourful and actually good for you, their heathier versions of red frogs, gummy bears and peach hearts have won the hearts of customers, subscribers and supermarket giants.

The company said it expanding into a new product — the iconic jelly snake. FUNDAY founder, Daniel Kitay said he realised buyers are confused by the nutritional information on some lolly packaging. “Labels give the sugar content for ‘one serving’ – but a serving is only two jelly snakes. Who has the willpower to open a packet and only eat two?”

The solution? In creating its  formula for a healthier version of the jelly snake, alongside food technologists, FUNDAY made sure one serving = an entire bag. That’s 50grams of lolly to enjoy, with only 3.3 grams of sugar in total (85%  less than other snakes out there). It’s not only about what’s missing (all that sugar), but also what’s added. Naturally sweetened, FUNDAY’s snakes also include gut-loving goodies such as prebiotic fibres.
