After 40 years, Siân Holt, the founder of Fudge Kitchen is leaving the company and stepping down from her role as Managing Director due to a sudden illness, the company has announced.

In a statement, it said: “It is with great sadness that following a sudden illness Fudge Kitchen announces that Managing Director and founder, Siân Holt, has had to step down from the role after an incredible forty-year journey both founding and building the much-loved confectionery business.

“Siân’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to creating superb confectionery has been instrumental in shaping Fudge Kitchen into the renowned producer it is today. Siân's impact extends beyond the bounds of the company as she has been a pillar of the confectionery industry on a national level, as well as a respected leader in her home county of Kent. Her dedication to crafting exceptional confectionery, combined with her passion for supporting the local community, has left an indelible mark. “

Following Holt’s departure, her role as Managing Director passes to Linsey Priestley to ensure the continuity and growth of the company.

Formerly the company's Finance Manager since 2020, Linsey brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having been an integral part of Fudge Kitchen's success through the turbulent years of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Her deep understanding of the company's values, operations, and financial intricacies will be instrumental in leading Fudge Kitchen forward whilst remaining dedicated to Siân’s legacy,” the company said.

Holt’s departure from the business marks the end of an era, but she leaves an enduring legacy that is embodied by the unwavering dedication and creativity of her wonderful staff.

"We are excited to welcome Linsey Priestley as our new Managing Director," said Richard Parson, newly appointed Marketing & Brand Director at Fudge Kitchen. "Her diligence, strong leadership skills, and intimate knowledge of both companies make her the ideal candidate to steer us into the future. We are confident that under Linsey's guidance, the Fudge Kitchen Group will continue to thrive and uphold the values that have made us such a beloved brand."

In addition to Priestley’s appointment, Fudge Kitchen has also announced a series of new directorships all promoted from within, that further solidify the company’s leadership team. Joining as Wholesale Director is Rupert Allinson, a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the wholesale market and a passion for delivering exceptional products in the premium food and drink sector.

Ian McCluskey takes on the role of Retail Director. With 14 years in the business, he brings extensive knowledge and a keen eye for creating immersive customer experiences. Completing the roster of directors is Richard Parson, appointed as Marketing & Brand Director, whose strategic vision and creative expertise will continue to elevate Fudge Kitchen's brand presence to new heights.

Fudge Kitchen operates a number of retail outlets in some of the UK’s historic cities including York and Bath.
