SweeTARTS candy has announced the winner of its “Search for the Next Gummy Shape” competition where consumers were asked to submit their favorite shape of gummy.

Crystal May, from Philadelphia, US, beat 3,000 entries and won a year’s supply of SweeTARTS Gummies with her cellphone entry, chosen as the next-generation gummy because mobile phones are ‘an integral part of our everyday lives’.

Creativity & originality

The winning shape was selected by the judges based on its: level of creativity and originality, quality of the submission, and relevance to the contest theme of sharing your passions.

The cellphone gummy shape will go into production later this year and appear in future bags of SweeTARTS Gummies nationwide.

We were amazed by the amount of submissions, as well as the range of original ideas, that our fans brought to the table, such as a tub of popcorn and hockey stick,” said Benjamin Jones, marketing associate, SweeTARTS.

We believe in celebrating those who follow their many passions and live creatively, and it’s exciting to know so many of our fans are doing just that. We look forward to bringing our winning gummy shape to life.”

Fruity flavors

SweeTARTS Gummies come in a variety of shapes including a turntable, VR (Virtual Reality) headset and rocket ship, in sweet and sour fruity flavors such as cherry, green apple, orange, lemon and blue punch.

May said she chose to submit the cellphone as her idea because: ‘The cellphone represents a communication tool that has not only changed the way consumers connect and communicate in their daily lives but has brought the world closer together’.

SweeTARTS Gummies and Sour Gummies are available at retailers nationwide in 4oz Share Pack ($1.69 SRP), 5.25oz Medium Peg ($1.99 SRP) and 10oz Stand Up Bag ($2.89 SRP).
