The Hershey Company is hitting the big screen.
You read correctly, the maker of Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Twizzlers is entering the world of entertainment. And it’s doing it to tell a very particular story - that of founder Milton Hershey.
Hershey’s film debut
Set at the turn of the century, the film titled ‘Hershey’ tells the story of the philanthropist and entrepreneur.
The film shines a light on a lesser-known aspect of Hershey’s legacy, exploring how the confectionery entrepreneur built not only a globally recognised business, but also a lasting philanthropic mission that continues to support young people today.
“Milton was a humble man, and I think he would blush if he saw the movie today,” says Suzanne Jones, vice president of The Hershey Experience and producer of the film. “But I also think he would recognise himself in it, and that is what makes this film one we are proud to put our name on.”
The film stars Finn Wittrock (The Big Short, Don’t Move, American Horror Story) and Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus, True Detective, San Andreas) and is directed by Mark Waters.
Beyond traditional marketing
The film’s release reflects a broader trend of confectionery companies finding new ways to engage with consumers.
Rather than relying solely on traditional advertising, brands are increasingly turning to storytelling to build deeper emotional connections with audiences. By bringing Milton Hershey’s life to the big screen, Hershey is highlighting the values and legacy that continue to shape the business more than a century after it was founded.
The move also reflects a growing appetite among consumers for authenticity and purpose-led narratives. In a crowded confectionery market, heritage stories can help brands differentiate themselves while reinforcing trust and loyalty.
The film will bring the story of one of confectionery’s most influential figures to a wider audience, introducing a new generation to the entrepreneur whose vision helped create one of the industry’s most recognisable companies.
Hershey is in cinemas across the US on 25 November 2026.
International release dates are yet to be confirmed.
