Toblerone Pink Crush is here to stay as confectionery and snacking giant marking major production first

Mondelēz Toblerone Pink Crush permanent: Key takeaways

  • Mondelēz makes Toblerone Pink Crush permanent after strong consumer demand
  • Launch marks Mondelēz’s first mass-produced pink chocolate product
  • Pink chocolate growth reflects growing interest in visually distinctive treats
  • Limited editions help brands test concepts before wider rollouts
  • Success could spur further Toblerone flavours and coloured chocolate

Mondelēz International has confirmed its pink Toblerone is here to stay.

Launched as a limited edition in December 2025 by Mondelēz World Travel Retail, Toblerone Pink Crush has proven so popular it’s secured a permanent place in the confectionery giant’s portfolio.

“Looks like this crush is getting serious,” said a spokesperson for the multinational.

What’s more, the move marks a Mondelēz milestone, as it’s the first time it has mass produced pink chocolate.

Tapping into trends

Pink chocolate has moved from novelty to mainstream in recent years, as confectionery companies look for new ways to stand out in an increasingly crowded market.

From ruby chocolates to seasonal pinks, manufacturers are embracing these colourful hues as a way to offer consumers something new and exciting, while tapping into the growing demand for shareable, social media-friendly treats.

The decision also highlights the role limited editions play in testing the popularity of new products. If they sell fast and keep selling then they might just stick around, and if they fail to grab consumer attention, then they were never meant to stick around anyway. It allows brands to gauge consumer interest before committing products to their core portfolios, helping reduce risk and avoid embarrassment if a new arrival isn’t a hit.

The future of confectionery

Making Pink Crush permanent suggests Mondelēz sees a future beyond traditional chocolate formats, backing the kinds of bold, eye-catching innovations that get shoppers talking and coming back for more.

And it’s not the only one making changes.

Manufacturers across the confectionery industry are innovating to create products that get people excited, exploring new colours, textures, formats and flavour combinations that can cut through crowded shelves and even more crowded social media feeds.

The only question now is, will Mondelēz expand the concept further through additional Toblerone flavours and a broader use of coloured chocolate across its portfolio? Oh, and will others follow suit?
