Mars, Inc. is entering into the Christmas confectionery spirit with the all-new M&M’s Holiday Blend Collection.

The industry giant has teamed up with Warner Bros to give its most popular brand a festive movie makeover, featuring characters from Elf, A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Available now, the limited-edition collection contains a mix of red and green M&M’s in classic peanut and milk chocolate flavours, and invites fans to “revel in the season with a screen-ready snack”.

Fan participation

In addition to the movie-themed sweets, fans who buy three participating M&M’s packs in a single transaction can download or stream one of the featured films.

Plus the M&M’s website has recipes for M&M’s-inspired baked treats, including milk-and-cookie cups, eggnog cookies, and popcorn snowballs.

Collaboration trend continues

The move follows similar collaborations, including M&M’s x Practical Magic 2 and M&M’s x Love Island, proving it to be a favourite way for the industry giant to connect with consumers.

But Mars isn’t alone in its efforts. We’ve seen a huge rise in confectionery and entertainment collaborations, including Quality Street x Monopoly, KitKat x Formula 1, Cadbury x Premier League and Ferrero x FIFA World Cup, as brands look for new and creative ways to spark shopper interest, drive sales, and connect with consumers beyond traditional advertising.

And as competition in the confectionery aisle continues to intensify, we expect to see many more campaigns like these, especially surrounding major cultural events such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
