Fresh from its foray into Halloween treats, Ferrero’s getting into the Christmas spirit with its Raise A Rocher campaign.
The Italian chocolate maker has teamed up with actress Rachel Brosnahan to invite people to “Raise A Rocher”, offering shoppers a chocolatey alternative to champagne.
The campaign is said to celebrate the traditions, gatherings and thoughtful gestures that make the season so special, and consumers can win prizes including a trip to New York City, in the process.
“Ferrero Rocher is all about making every day and extraordinary moments feel worthy of celebration,” says Ferrero brand manager Leigh Daniel. “With Raise A Rocher, we’re inviting consumers to embrace the holiday season by elevating the moments that matter.”
Alongside the campaign, Ferrero’s also expanding its squares range, with the launch of limited-edition Cinnamon Spice chocolate squares.
The move comes as confectionery brands step up efforts to capture Christmas sales, with Mondelēz, Mars, Nestlé, Hershey and Lindt all increasing investment in seasonal marketing, gifting formats and limited-edition festive products.
Crucial Christmas sales
The festive season is one of the most important trading periods of the year for confectionery manufacturers, with demand for gifting, sharing and premium chocolate products typically peaking in the run-up to Christmas.
For brands such as Ferrero Rocher, the period provides a key opportunity to attract shoppers looking for everything from stocking fillers to party snacks.
Limited-edition launches
Limited-edition launches are a powerful tool for confectionery brands, creating buzz, driving impulse purchases and encouraging consumers to try something new.
Seasonal flavours are particularly effective, tapping into demand for novelty and giving shoppers a sense of urgency to buy before products disappear from shelves.
For manufacturers, these launches provide an opportunity to refresh established brands and increase visibility during key seasonal selling periods.
Ferrero’s latest launch reflects a broader trend across confectionery, with seasonal occasions playing a vital role in product innovation and marketing strategies.
