Private equity group Blackstone is close to acquiring the stake owned by investors Growth Capital Partners in Tangerine Confectionery, the largest British manufacturer of sugar confectionery and branded popcorn, claim media reports.
As part of its wider initiative to make its manufacturing more energy efficient, UK sweet maker Tangerine said it is installing a combined heat and power (CHP) system that will incur savings of around £200,000 and 630 tonnes of carbon each year.
In its strategy to revamp ‘cult’ sweet brands thought lost to bygone eras, UK-based confectioner Tangerine says it continues to focus on products that are seemingly classic, yet innovative in their formulation.
UK-based confectioner Tangerine agreed Friday to purchase some of
the country's most iconic confectionery brands including Barratt
Sherbet Fountains and Butterkist popcorn from market leader Cadbury
Schweppes.
