DSM Food Specialties has opened its first sales and customer
service office in the Far East - marking the company's continued
investment in the region.

The dairy ingredients business unit of Dutch company DSM Food Specialties has opened its first sales and customer service office in the Far East - marking the company's continued investment in the this part of the world.

The move follows the introduction of a new sales office in Korea for the business units savoury ingredients and nutritional ingredients in July 2002, as well as new facilities for nutritional ingredients in Singapore. In addition to China, the new office in Beijing will service Japan, South Korea and Vietnam.

"The expansion fits in well with our strategy of increasing sales in this region. By setting up our new sales and service office in China, we will be closer to our customers and ensure that their specific needs in the dairy industry are met,"​ said Rick Calk, global sales director of DSM Food Specialties, dairy ingredients.

The dairy ingredients business unit of DSM Food Specialties produces a range of innovative dairy cultures and culture media as well as coagulants and other enzymes.

An ambitious company, DSM with annual sales of close to €6 billion is aiming to up the figure to €10 billion by 2005 - with at least 80 per cent of sales generated by specialties.
