Trend 10: Rich, chewy & crunchy
Cargill and Innova expect a greater focus on texture claims such as 'crunchy' or 'gooey', 'velvety' or 'rich' in 2015. The companies expect brands to launch products offering multisensory experiences. Scandinavian confectioner Cloetta for example recently launched its Sprinkle salted icecream waffel chocolate Bar that provides a varied texture experience. Innova and Cargill have also noticed a rise in the use of front of pack images displaying the confection cut in half to demonstrate texture such as Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations Chocolate Shakes.
