Labelling error prompts Mars M&M’s recall
Mars Chocolate North America has recalled some M&M’s branded products because of undeclared peanut butter.

It may contain peanut butter without listing it on the ingredient label on the outside cardboard box. The inside package is correctly labelled with ingredients and allergy information.

People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction but no incidents have been reported.

The issue was identified after a consumer told the firm that a M&M’S brand peanut butter package containing peanut butter M&M’S was inside a M&M’S brand milk chocolate Theater Box.

M&M’S brand milk chocolate Theater Box comes in a 3.40oz brown, 3 inch x 6.5 inch cardboard box stamped on the right-hand side panel with the lot number and best before date.

Affected lot codes (which can be found here) were shipped and distributed to customers’ warehouses between May 8 and July 1 and then distributed for retail sale nationwide.
