United Biscuits has injected huge efforts into new product development (NPD), range extensions and flavor variants as it heads into 2013 minus its flagship snacks arm KP Snacks. After years of speculation on a sale, the UK biscuit firm sold KP Snacks last week to Intersnack for an undisclosed sum in a move it said would enable the firm to dedicate focus on its biscuit arm. See HERE . In particular, its McVitie’s brand is set for a flurry of new launches and variants but Carr’s, Jacob’s and go ahead! products are also set for revamps and NPD injections. Jon Eggleton, marketing director at United Biscuits UK, said: “2013 will benefit from one of our biggest years yet in terms of NPD.” |
