The Yowie Group announced that its Wildlife Conservation Series of Surprise-Inside Chocolates has raised $250,000 for the organization.

WCS uses conservation science to secure protections for threatened wildlife species across the planet’s largest intact wild places.

Yowie said these efforts align perfectly with one of its core missions to encourage parents to start a conversation with their children about the environment.

Every chocolate in the series is shaped like one of the popular Yowie characters: Rumble, Crag, Boof, Ditty, Squish and Nap.

Yowies are magical creatures and champions of our threatened environment, they are here to show us the wonders of our natural heritage, remind us of its value, and teach us how to help save the natural world - all while having loads of fun at the same time,” a spokesperson said.

Inside each chocolate character is a limited-edition collectible animal and a full color leaflet. The leaflet features a picture of the animal, its characteristics and its conservation status. From here, parents and their children can learn more about the animals and interact online by following Yowie World.

Yowie Surprise-Inside Chocolates are available in more than 30,000 retail outlets across the US, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and Target.
