“It is a time to celebrate the authentic, fun treats that candy companies have been producing for more than 100 years.
“For candy makers and retailers alike, National Candy Month can also help address the confectionery sales gap between Easter and Halloween while driving category permissibility based on emotional wellbeing and industry leadership,” the NCA said.
In addition, National Candy Month provides an opportunity to discuss the role candy can play in a happy, balanced lifestyle, including helping consumers make informed choices by providing more information and more options, like smaller pack sizes and clear calorie labels on the front of packaging.
The NCA estimates this summer promotional opportunity has the potential to add $500m in incremental sales to the confectionery category overall.
One of the key attractions at this year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo is the merchandising innovation resource in the Destination Retail section.

“Whether you’re looking for the latest everyday checkout solutions or creative ideas to celebrate new seasons like National Candy Month, you’ll find the latest tools, tips and techniques at the Sweets & Snacks Expo’s Destination Retail,” the NCA said.
