Bazooka Candy Brands, makers of the namesake bubble gum as well as Rings Pops and Baby Bottle Pops, have officially entered the gummy category while harnessing nostalgia to capitalize on the interactive nature of its core portfolio.
Since refreshing the bubble gum brand in 2014, The Topps Company has heard from longtime fans clamoring for the classic red, white and blue package – and the comic strips that came along with it.
Accelerating innovation for core brands and expanding in international markets will be key strategies for Bazooka, says the company’s president Tony Jacobs.
An Argentine gum manufacturer has been granted the right to
continue making Bazooka gum, despite an acrimonious end to its
business relationship with the Topps company who own the iconic US
brand.
Topps, the US-based company behind the Bazooka bubblegum has
reported a decline in sales for 2002, caused mainly by the collapse
in sales of its Pokemon branded confectionery items.
