New US candy lab and factory set to transform the ‘Wonka’ landscape

Alongside Sprinkk’s new 3,700-square-foot candy R&D Lab in Omaha, the company will also begin operations in a new flexible contract manufacturing facility in Albion, NE.

National Candy Month

With June designated ‘National Candy Month’ in the United States, both facilities are poised to transform the start-up candy industry landscape.

Sprinkk’s founder, Tessa Porter, is a veteran candy scientist who is revolutionizing candy manufacturing by lowering barriers to new creations with innovative development and manufacturing processes.

Porter said she started self-funding Sprinkk after departing her corporate role to pioneer a new era in candy production.

"Creating Sprinkk, particularly the new facilities, has been a test of creativity, strategy, and patience.

“I started planning the idea of Sprinkk around three years before I left my corporate job with a vision to fill the gap that I was witnessing around candy innovation and scalable manufacturing.

“I wanted to prove that we don’t always need to do things the same way just because that is how they have always been done, in both candy and business.”

With a track record of innovation, including leading top candy company's head of innovation and technology, Porter brings a wealth of experience to Sprinkk, extending beyond candy production, aiming to foster opportunities for women in STEM and advocate for careers in the trades and manufacturing.
