Sandvik Process Systems has snapped up Dutch company SGL Technology following a long collaboration between the firms in engineering machines for chocolate production.

SGL Technology specializes in custom-made equipment for the chocolate sector such as moulding lines, mobile tanks and mixers.

Sandvik said in a press release that the acquisition allowed it to be “a more complete supplier to the food industry”.

Sandvik suppliers steel belt and conveyers and spans industries such as confectionery, fruit and vegetables and coffee.

SGL Technology is based in Brada, Netherlands. Its website lists references from Lindt, Barry Callebaut, Cargill, Unilever and Pepsico.

The company exhibited a modular rotary depositing module at this year’s ProSweets in Cologne, Germany, which is held in conjunction with ISM.
