Meiji ‘Delicious Off’ range (Japan)
Meiji has launched maltitol-sweetened chocolate range ‘Delicious Off’ as it says Japanese consumers are increasingly health conscious and drawn to high cocoa polyphenols and sugar free products. A survey conducted by the company found 70% of respondents would like to buy chocolate with reduced sugar, with strong purchase intent from 64 year-old and 24 year-old women. The Delicious Off range includes a milk chocolate SKU and a dark chocolate variant with 5 g of sucrose per 33 g stand-up pouch bag. Meiji also has introduced a 100% sugar-free version under the brand.
