Mars Wrigley launches M&M’s, Snickers, Skittles SKUs for Valentine’s Day 2018

The company, whichrecently decided to base its US headquarters in New Jersey, said it has updated its packaging with “seasonally relevant graphics and colors to improve navigation on-shelf, and to increase [consumer’s] purchase intent.”
Mars Wrigley pointed out that 92% of Valentine shoppers purchased chocolate candy, and of all candy purchased for Valentine’s Day, 76% was chocolate, according to National Confectioners Association’s data this year. In addition, 62% of those purchasing chocolate candy for Valentine’s buy “seasonally wrapped or shaped chocolate.”
Nielsen data regarding this year’s Valentine’s season ending Feb 18, 2017, also showed that Dove Promises Silky Smooth Milk and Dark Chocolate Hearts from Mars Wrigley’s portfolio were among the top five selling items within the decorating and sharing confectionery category.
“With each season, we’ll continue to introduce new items, festive packaging and graphics, and more accessible displays,” said Mars Wrigley.
