Vanja Vagić, public affairs manager for Mars in the Baltics, said the decision was made after Mars reassessed its business model in Croatia last year to achieve greater efficiency and establish a sustainable business.
After the business reassessment, “integration was implemented in all segments and sales categories and all business operations were united under one local legal entity, Mars Croatia,” she said.
“It was decided to further evaluate and unify distribution operations in order to optimize business operations on the local market.”
Mars previously had segments of its portfolio distributed with more than one distribution partner, according to Vagić. She said Atlantic Trade has so far demonstrated “reliability and good results” in the distribution of chewing gum and candy categories.
Mars currently operates Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, M&M’s, and Skittles among other brands in Croatia. It also sells a limited edition of Spearmint, Doublemint and Juicy Fruit in the market.
