Soul singer sells spicy meals
The R&B singer has a voice that’s smooth as milk, but his namesake line of Southern-flavored foods boasts a bit more spice. In 2004, his company SFGL Foods launched Smokey Robinson’s The Soul is in the Bowl Gumbo, on the heels of his gospel-tinged album Food for the Spirit. The frozen meals are available in select parts of the US, at market chains like Albertson’s and Safeway.
